Inspiration comes from anything, and for flow, it started from this song.

Flow is a 2D casual game inspired by Bruce Lee's philosophy of being water, where you need to tilt your phone to reveal an invisible shape and avoid obstacles along the way.

The focus was to create illustrations in watercolor style to translate the look and feel of water.

The Process
The focus was to further translate the feel of water and flow through motion graphics and vfx.

Matching textures in AE from illustrations.

Splashes added according to base animation

Water VFX created according to animation.

Adding in animation assets if any using wave masks.

Main effect used is roughen edges.

An alpha matte of this ink spread is added to the ripple created for reveal in animation.

A minimal design has been chosen
that is inspired by water and watercolor to further tie the theme and concept all together.





Icons within the game have been chosen based on the color and theme of the level played to represent health, progress and instructions.

Elements of the branding have been taken into the website by making it animated, textured and have paper cutouts for different information section similar to the levels selection in the game UI.
